Miss Gladys C. Edwards, 76, former Montgomery County auditor, died Thursday morning at her home, 1301 Mill St. Miss Edwards, life resident of the county, served as auditor from Jan. 1, 1952 until Dec. 31, 1955. She then became deputy auditor, serving until 1960. Prior to being elected auditor, she had served as deputy in that office under Grady Chadwick. Still earlier, she had been deputy county treasurer. Born March 26, 1890, at Mace, she was the daughter of Morton E. and Ida Cash Edwards. She was never married. Miss Edwards was a member of the Mace Methodist Church. The only survivors are a brother, O. C. Edwards of Mace; a nephew, Donald Edwards of Mace, and a great-niece and great-nephew. - kbz
